I'm back everyone!
7 days in Alaska, and surprisingly uneventful unfortunately. The last time we went was much better. This particular cruiseline did not exactly impress. The food was hugely lacking, the times scheduled at port was at odd hours and alot of excursions were not available due to the early or late hours. The weather was lovely though, cold and drizzly the whole time. I went to the dance club pretty much every night.
Derek and I beat Yoshi's Island while we were on the cruise, and we saw several movies that we enjoyed: Tangled, Megamind, The Little Guardians, and Despicable Me. Awesome. The view from ship on the first day out. This is the only picture of me from the whole trip...I took like 10 pictures of the whole trip.I loved looking at all the little fishing boats.Burger Queen! They were supposedly the best place for a fish sandwich in all of the area....but they charged like $18 for a fried fish sandwich...so needless to say we didn't buy any.The green of Alaska is so beautiful, and I loved that everything is covered in Ivy.What a rebel!!The little tram that gave you and eagle eye view of the town...Dereks mom and sister in law were on the tram at the time the picture was taken. Waiting for our food to come.....wasn't that great.....at all.The best part of the whole trip! I met Libby Riddles who was the first woman to win the Iditarod. She autographed two of my books and we discussed dog training for quite a time. It was amazing!!
Overall, Alaska was beautiful, as was the weather. But the company of the trip and the cruiseline somewhat soured the experience.
