Sea Life Aquarium with Trinity

Ever since Rusty passed away, I've felt like I should spend some quality time with Trinity. She doesn't have a big sister or anyone to look up to, and I thought Joe and Judy could use some time alone for a bit. So I picked Trinity up and headed out to Arizona Mills Mall. We went to the Sealife Aquarium.
Trinity had a checklist of fish and creatures she was supposed to search for.We pet the starfishThey were so colorfulIt was nice to be surrounded by the blue water streaked with the bright colors of all the fast moving tropical reef fish.
We saw weird shrimps and sea urchins. What a goof! They had those little bubbles all over...it was cool. After the aquarium we decided to walk around the mall for a little bit. We got some pretzels. And I bought her some hair barrettes from Amuse. Then we got dipping dots! Then the Rocky Mountain Chocolate FactoryWhere of course I got her some chocolate covered strawberries. And she very much enjoyed them!We relaxed and hung out at Love Sac.Then I took her to get her nails done to finish off the visit
She got them painted a shimmery purpleWith rhinestonesAnd white flowersI think she had fun, and so did I. I hope to get to spend time with her again soon!

A Heartbreaking Farewell to Rusty

I went to visit Rusty this morning. He was happy as could be to see me! He had been doing so good on his chemo and not showing any complications. He cuddled with me and let me pet him. I was informed tonight that Rusty passed away. They told me they thought he waited till he could see me one last time, so I could say goodbye. It's heartbreaking to lose him, for me, the Gaskins, and Chance their youngest pup is now alone. I think of them every day, and now I really need to make an effort to spend more time with them. Rest in Peace Rusty.
An old man and his dog were walking down this dirt road with fences on both sides, they came to a gate in the fence and looked in, it was nice grassy, woody areas, just what a 'huntin' dog and man would like, but, it had a sign saying 'no trespassing' so they walked on. They came to a beautiful gate with a person in white robes standing there. "Welcome to Heaven" he said. The old man was happy and started in with his dog following him. The gatekeeper stopped him. "Dogs aren't allowed, I'm sorry but he can't come with you."

"What kind of Heaven won't allow dogs? If he can't come in, then I will stay out with him. He's been my faithful companion all his life, I can't desert him now."

"Suit yourself, but I have to warn you, the Devil's on this road and he'll try to sweet talk you into his area, he'll promise you anything, but the dog can't go there either. If you won't leave the dog, you'll spend Eternity on this road."

So the old man and dog went on. They came to a rundown fence with a gap in it, no gate, just a hole. Another old man was inside. "S'cuse me Sir, my dog and I are getting mighty tired, mind if we come in and sit in the shade for awhile?"

"Of course, there's some cold water under that tree over there. Make yourselves comfortable"

"You're sure my dog can come in? The man down the road said dogs weren't allowed anywhere."

"Would you come in if you had to leave the dog?"

"No sir, that's why I didn't go to Heaven, he said the dog couldn't come in.
We'll be spending Eternity on this road, and a glass of cold water and some shade would be mighty fine right about now. But, I won't come in if my buddy here can't come too, and that's final."

The man smiled a big smile and said "Welcome to Heaven."

"You mean this is Heaven? Dogs ARE allowed? How come that fellow down the road said they weren't?"

"That was the Devil and he gets all the people who are willing to give up a life long companion for a comfortable place to stay. They soon find out their mistake, but then it's too late. The dogs come here, the fickle people stay there. GOD wouldn't allow dogs to be banned from Heaven. After all, HE created them to be man's companions in life, why would he separate them in death?"

Hijacked!

Today I was working at my client's house with the horses. While I was getting some hay together I had this little guy jump on my shoulder. He stayed on my shoulder the entire time I was there, even with all the manual labor I was doing. Then I kept him on my shoulder and went to get my oil changed. Never moved, let me pet him and everything. So I took him home, he found a nice home next to my porch light where there's plenty of crickets, gnats, flies and spiders. Stay safe little lizard!

Easy There Moose

I just finished pet sitting 2 dogs belonging to a police officer, and it was the first time that a dog tried to attack me. Moose (a sharpei mix) just did not like having me in his house without his parents. Cosmo (cocker spaniel) couldn't have cared less I was there. Slowly but surely Moose started to warm up to me. Now we're buddies.Cosmo gave me lots of kissesHe was excited to see me today!Mushy face Moose!

Pet Trainer To The Rich & Famous?!

Boy, I sure do like the sound of that, Carissa Jarvis: Pet Sitter/Trainer of the Rich and Famous. First on my list of R&F clients is the Rooney family. Mickey Rooney's daughter, and her smorgasbord of animals. I pet sit her pets for a week and trained their dog to walk appropriately. They were very happy with my services and said they were going to do more business with me soon!

Eye Care for Animals Part Deux

Today I packed up Pickles, Minnie and Sookie and headed out to Avondale to Eye Care for Animals for their Annual eye exam.

All the girls buckled into their seats ready for the long drive (this is the first time in over a year that Pickles and Minnie have seen Sookie!)Sharla saying hi to SookieSookie saying hi backSo excited for the car ride!
Well, the first hour was fun anyways. LOLSo sleepy during the long driveWe made it in one piece!Pickles and Minnie waiting patiently for Dr. Norman to come see them.Minnie volunteered to go first. (They are doing a blink reaction test)In this photo they are using a scope to look for degeneration on her retina.Using some drops to dilate her eyes.Physically looking at the condition of her eyes.
Good girl Minnie! Your turn Sookie!Physical eye examination (Sookie has never been to the eye doctor before)Scope exam for the retina. All done! Now Pickles turn (she got scared being in the crate and snarled a bit so they muzzled her) She's having a pressure test done in this photo.Getting loved on by the staffThey love Pickles!

All the girls did great. All 3 of them had the same procedures done, I just didn't want to take too many pictures to annoy the staff. Dr. Norman has such a way with dogs, and the girls just loved her! I was so proud of Sookie, she did so well for her first exam...she doesn't get out much, so it's a big deal for her. Overall I had a blast with all of them! Oh, and their eyes look great!
