Yesterday Puppy Training went pretty well. It was quiet though. Only Jackson, Jake, and Teddy was there. Jackson's girlfriend, Kasey got spayed last week, so she still wasn't well enough to come in. And Body's parents, well, I don't know if they have his best intentions at heart. They rarely train with him, and as is they let their own daughter run amok and distract the other dogs during class. So I was kinda glad they weren't there.

After puppy training, Derek and I came home and relaxed. And last night I went to a work meeting, about safety, and shrink. All that boring stuff.

My cousin Kyla turns 11 tomorrow. It's crazy! I remember when she was just a baby, pssshh I remember when she was in utero. LOL. It's hard to believe that time has flown by so fast.

Well, here's some cute puppy training pictures.

Tonight Derek and I went out to dinner. He said he wanted to show me how much he appreciated me cleaning the house yesterday. It was a big deal since I hate cleaning, and do it very rarely.

But anywho, he took me to my all time favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse. And we spent the whole time reminiscing about the almost 5 years we've been together. There was some tears (happy ones though). There were some cute memories that he had, that I didn't even remember. And same for me. It was so nice.

After we came home we took Jackson for a nice walk around the neighborhood. He did so well. It was just a very nice evening. We usually don't spend that much time together, because we do our own thing at night. ::sighs:: I sure do love that man of mine!

I'm a pretty lucky girl, that's all I can say.

The Terrible Twos!

It has happened. Jackson has finally hit his terrible twos phase. Supposedly for dogs it's supposed to be from 12-16 weeks. Well, at 12 weeks he was still great, so I thought we might have gotten lucky. Not so, the rambunctiousness has come with a vengeance.

He has been digging, chewing, biting, barking. Bah! If he's not in his crate I have to keep him on his leash, which I guess is ok. But I kinda feel bad for him. I say this as he attempts to gnaw on the hem of my pants. (Which are already ripped because of my bike gear) Awesome.

At least he's eating consistently again, though his infection is still not gone :-(

Well I'm going to take Jackson for a walk and see if it'll help with his behavior

Not much to say today. Jackson had his 4th Puppy Training class today. He did really well and of course we got some more pictures.

So, for the past 2 weeks I've been trying to find out all I can about my Widboom Family Tree. Alot of information is lost. And distant relatives have been forgotten. I have made so much progress, but have somewhat hit a wall. The farthest back in my lineage I can go is my Great, Great Grandfather. Who came over to America from Stockholm, Sweden in 1880. Unfortunately Ellis Island didn't start keeping records of the immigrants till 1892. So I can't find out what our name used to be. It's a set back, but I'm determined to figure it out. I want to have it done before my grandparents pass away.

Tomorrow Jackson get's his last DHPP (DHPP stands for Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) shot tomorrow morning. And I feel bad because of course my work rescheduled me to work from 6am-2pm tomorrow, so I wont get to be there with him. On the up side though, we will be able to finally take him to places like the park and on much more extensive walks when his immunity is fully built up in 2 weeks.

On Monday, we had our first vet appointment with Jackson. I love his vet, he is so good with Jackson and was fully prepared to answer any and all questions (no matter how dumb and paranoid) we had. And I am glad I took him in. We found out that we were doing everything perfectly and that Jackson was extremely healthy. Well healthy except for the infection he has in him, ::clears throat:: for lack of a better word, wee wee. So the vet prescribed him Amoxicillin to be taken twice a day.

My sister, Lacy will be turning 18 in 2 weeks. It's a little crazy to realize that. Not that she's that old, she's been acting older than 18 for years now. It's just knowing how long ago I left home. She was still in Jr. High. I only can hope that life starts getting better for her. I know that the last 3 years have been absolutely miserable for her, and I can feel only the deepest regret that I left when I did, during a rough part in her life. It was never a good family life, but at least she didn't have to experience the abuse like I did. Then when I moved out, it all fell on her. I try to be a good sister, I try to be there for her and not throw my opinion out too often. I'm genuinely proud of her for who she is considering how she was raised the last 3 years.

This blog has indeed been long enough. Sorry.

Today Jackson had his 3rd puppy training class. The girl puppy, Kasey, got a little rough today. Slightly to aggressive to play with all the other puppies. But apparently Jackson is a glutton for punishment and kept going over to her and letting her nip at him. We learned Drop it, Leave it, Take it, Lie Down, and went over loose leash walking again. Jackson did very well.

Derek managed to settle Jackson about 5 minutes ago and walk away without him moving. That's a huge step in the right direction!

Tomorrow I work my normal stocking shift at Petsmart. 5am-9am. I really need to inflate my tires...I took alot of cute pictures today of the training and such. But I leave it off on a happy Jackson for today!

I can't believe that it's already March. It seems that only yesterday Derek and I had just met. And now we've been together almost five years. Almost been engaged for 1 year. It's just insane. We've owned our house for a year, and had Tiger for 3 years. We've had Jackson over a month. Time just flies by so fast!

Tomorrow Jackson will be having his 3rd puppy training class. I'll be sure to take more pictures. It's nice to capture all those moments on film. Well, it's late, and I should be getting to bed. Perhaps I'll post tomorrow.

Night

Well, I'm awake. About to leave for work in a couple minutes. Its been an interesting week.

On Sunday, March 1st...Jackson had puppy training and he actually played with all the other puppies.

On Monday, we gave him a bath. And now he smells much better. LOL

Not too much happened on Tuesday or Wednesday. Except my dad's dog died and he's very upset about it.

Yesterday Derek took me out for a date night. We ate at Dairy Queen and watched Coraline in the theaters. It was really nice. And now here we are already at Friday. Pay Day! I should be stocking until 9am, but it sounds like we'll be working longer than our scheduled time. I'm cool with that, more hours for me!!!
